FEATURES OF DIAMOND IN ANCIENT SEDIMENTARY SERIES

Abstract

Typomorphic features of diamond crystals from placers of four diamondiferous subprovinces of the Siberian platform – Tungusskaya, Central-Siberian, Leno-Anabarskaya and Aldanskaya – are briefly described. In doing so, we used mineralogical classification of diamonds by Yu. Or-lov; it has a deep physical basis and contains 11 genetic varieties of diamonds (with an additional separation of the crystals of individual groups according to the habitus and the morphological types of crystals).
