ANCIENT CRUSTS OF WEATHERING IN THE COMPLEX OF DIAMOND PROSPECTING WORKS

Abstract

The ancient crusts of weathering developed on the rocks of the trap formation and kimber-lites in the Malobotuobinsky, Daldyno-Alakitsky and Srednemarkhinsky diamondiferous areas of the Siberian platform are briefly described. The changes in various rocks and various factors, which are significant for the formation of eluvial products, have been characterized. Such data (for their application in the practice of prospecting for diamond) can be obtained only in the case of complex optical, electron-microscopic, and structural-crystallochemical studies.
