The activity of the Geological Commission of the Shevchenko Scientific Society (NTSh) is briefly characterized, which began work immediately after the revival of the Society in Ukraine on October 21, 1989. As the heir to the Geological Collections of the Museum of the NTSh in Lviv and the Geological Subcommission of the NTSh of America, it united geologists, scientists, teachers and practitioners of the western region of Ukraine in conducting joint research in vari-ous areas of the geological field. From 1990 to the present day, more than 35 scientific meetings have been held within the scientific sessions of the NTSh, at which hundreds of reports and messages from various areas of geological education and practice have been heard and discussed. Members of the NTSh actively participate in the organization and holding of various scientific and industrial meetings, are au-thors and co-authors of monographic works, educational and other publications.
